Lesson Plans and Resources for Teaching the Civil War 

The American Civil War was the first war to bring the fighting home to everyone as seen through the eyes of photographers and artists.  Artists would draw scenes from battlefields, some would capture life in camp while others captured portraits of soldiers.  Through these sketches and paintings, we have a truer sense of the realities of the Civil War.
